Frequently Asked Questions
Helpful answers about using Kololad.
Getting Started
How do I create and play my first routine?
From Home, tap Create Routine, or open Routines and use the add-routine control.
Give the routine a name, add its steps, and choose the duration and optional photo, video, or sound for each step. When the routine is ready, save it.
Open Routines and tap Play. Kololad will guide you through the saved steps in order.
Routines and Playback
Can Kololad continue when my iPhone locks?
Yes, when the routine contains audible cues.
Open the routine’s settings and turn off Keep Screen Awake. The iPhone can then dim or lock while the routine timing and audio continue. Playback controls are available from the Lock Screen, Control Center, AirPods, and compatible headphones while Kololad owns the active audible routine.
A fully muted routine keeps the screen awake because reliable silent background playback is not supported. Video visuals also remain available only while Kololad is in the foreground.
Why did my routine pause after a phone call or headphone disconnection?
Kololad pauses an active routine when a phone call interrupts audio or when the active AirPods, Bluetooth, wired-headphone, USB, or AirPlay route disconnects.
The routine does not resume automatically after the call ends or the audio route returns. Tap Resume in Kololad when you are ready to continue. After a headphone disconnection, Resume uses the audio route currently available, including the iPhone speaker if you intentionally continue before reconnecting headphones.
This behavior prevents routine guidance from restarting unexpectedly or moving to the speaker without your decision.
Why can videos be only up to 20 seconds?
Kololad is designed for short visual guidance inside routines, not long-form video lessons.
A short video is usually enough to show the movement, position, or action for a step. Kololad can then loop that video while the step is running.
Keeping videos short helps routines open faster, prepare faster, sync more smoothly across your devices, and use less storage.
For longer lessons or full workout videos, we recommend keeping the full video in your Photos library or another video app, and using Kololad for the short step-by-step routine guidance.
How do full-screen, Fit, and Fill work?
Full-screen routine playback is available in landscape orientation. Rotate your iPhone to landscape, then tap the full-screen button in the upper-right corner of the routine content.
Kololad starts in Fit mode, which shows the entire photo, video, or background without cropping.
Double-tap the screen to switch to Fill mode. Fill uses the whole screen, but it may crop some content around the edges. Double-tap again to return to Fit.
Rotating your iPhone back to portrait exits full-screen mode without ending the routine.
Plus and Purchases
Can I use Kololad for free?
Yes. Kololad Free includes the complete core routine experience, so you can build and play a routine without starting a trial or purchasing a subscription.
The Free plan supports one active routine with up to 10 active steps and includes basic sounds. Upgrade only when you want more capacity and the complete sound library.
What does Kololad Plus unlock?
Kololad Plus unlocks unlimited routines, unlimited steps, all step sounds, and all completion phrase options.
Monthly and yearly subscription options are available. Your localized App Store price is shown inside Kololad before you confirm a purchase.
Can I cancel Kololad Plus at any time?
Yes. Apple manages Kololad Plus subscriptions, so you do not need to contact Kololad support to cancel.
On your iPhone:
- Open Settings.
- Tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select Kololad.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.
Cancelling stops the subscription from renewing automatically. Apple shows the subscription’s current status and expiration information on the same screen.
What happens to my routines if Kololad Plus ends?
Your saved routines are not deleted when Kololad Plus ends.
Kololad returns to the Free plan limits: one routine remains active, additional routines stay saved but are locked, and only the first 10 steps of a longer active routine are available during Free playback.
You can continue using Kololad Free or activate Plus again later.
Who handles my subscription payment?
Kololad Plus purchases and subscription billing are processed by Apple through the App Store.
Leksiana LLC does not collect or store your payment card information. Apple displays the price, billing period, and purchase confirmation before completing the transaction.
How do I restore my Kololad Plus purchase?
Open Settings, select Kololad Plans, and tap Restore Purchases.
Make sure the device is using the Apple Account associated with the active Kololad Plus subscription. When the subscription is found, Plus will unlock automatically.
A separate Kololad account is not required.
Why does my Free routine play only the first 10 steps?
Kololad Free supports up to 10 active steps. If your active routine contains more than 10 steps, Kololad shows the Free Plan Limit message before playback starts.
Tap Continue to play the first 10 steps. The remaining steps stay saved in the routine. Tap View Plans to open Kololad Plans without starting playback.
Kololad Plus makes every saved step available for playback.
Why is one of my routines locked?
Kololad Free supports one active routine. If you have multiple saved routines when Kololad Plus ends, one routine remains active and the others stay saved but show Locked · Plus.
When Kololad asks you to choose your Free routine, choose the routine you want to keep active. You cannot switch to another saved routine while remaining on the Free plan.
Activating Kololad Plus again unlocks all your saved routines.
How do I switch between monthly and yearly Kololad Plus?
Apple manages changes between Kololad Plus subscription options.
On your iPhone:
- Open Settings.

No. Deleting Kololad from your iPhone does not automatically cancel Kololad Plus.
To cancel before deleting the app, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, select Kololad, and tap Cancel Subscription.
See Apple’s cancellation instructions for current details.
Data and iCloud
How does iCloud synchronization work?
Kololad automatically synchronizes your routines, steps, routine settings, photos, and videos through your private iCloud storage when your Apple Account and system iCloud settings allow it.
Changes are saved on the device first, so your routines remain available when you are offline. Pending changes synchronize automatically when iCloud becomes available again.
You can check the current synchronization status in Settings. Kololad does not add a separate synchronization switch inside the app.
What do the different iCloud Sync statuses mean?
- Preparing iCloud — Kololad is setting up secure synchronization.
- Saved on This iPhone — your routines are available locally on this device.
- iCloud On — synchronization is available; Kololad may also show when it last synchronized.
- Syncing — Kololad is currently updating your routines.
- Waiting to Sync — your routines remain on the device, and pending changes will synchronize when iCloud becomes available.
- Paused in iCloud Settings — turn on Kololad in the system iCloud settings to resume.
- Sign In Required — sign in to an Apple Account to synchronize a new local library.
- iCloud Storage Full — free some iCloud storage so synchronization can continue.
- iCloud Temporarily Unavailable — Kololad will try again automatically.
Kololad saves changes on the device first, so temporary synchronization interruptions do not prevent normal offline use.
What happens if I sign out of iCloud or change my Apple Account?
If you sign out without replacing the Apple Account, Kololad keeps the current local library on that iPhone. Playback remains available, and edits wait securely on the device. Synchronization resumes when the same Apple Account returns.
Signing in with a different Apple Account creates a privacy boundary. Kololad stops active playback and removes the previous account’s local routines and media from that device before opening the new account’s library.
The previous account’s successfully synchronized copy remains in that account’s private iCloud storage and becomes available again when that Apple Account returns.
Troubleshooting
Can I recover a deleted routine or step?
Yes. Open Routines and tap Recently Deleted at the bottom of the page.
Deleted routines and steps remain available for restoration for up to 30 days. If a deleted step belongs to a routine that is also deleted, restore the routine first and then restore the step.
Items are removed automatically after the recovery period.
